Fetal posterior urethral valve syndrome results in potentially lethal complications including irreversible renal dysplasia, pulmonary hypoplasia unless prenatal management.
One midterm multiparous woman with fetal posterior urethral valve syndrome underwent the first vesicocentesis and fetal urine was evaluated for renal function. The second vesicocentesis and vesico- amniotic shunting procedure using a SF Double-J catheter were simmultaneously performed. We followed up fetal renal function. At first vesicocentesis we predicted poor prognosis from the first fetal urinanalysis. We also expected poor outcome from the second urinanalysis and there were the obstruction sign of SF Double-J catheter and regular uterine contractions. So therapeutic termination was done.
